Wenchi College of Agriculture and Applied Technology (WeCAAT), formerly known as Wenchi Farm Institute, was established on 17th January 1964 to train young people in vocational agriculture for the Ministry of Agriculture and related institutions as Technical and Farm Assistants. Over the years, the College expanded its mandate to provide agricultural training for personnel from the Police Service, Prisons Service, Armed Forces, retiring military officers, and aspiring agribusiness practitioners.
Located in the Bono Region, about five minutes from Wenchi Township along the N12 Wenchi to Wa Road, WeCAAT provides a serene environment that supports effective teaching, practical learning, and innovation.
The College is committed to delivering high-quality education in agriculture, agribusiness, agricultural mechanization, and applied technologies through practical training, research, and industry engagement. Graduates are equipped with the technical expertise, entrepreneurial mindset, and leadership skills needed to contribute to Ghana’s agricultural transformation and food security.
Combined with modern training facilities, dedicated staff, and proximity to commercial centres such as Techiman and Sunyani, WeCAAT remains a preferred destination for agricultural education and skills development in Ghana.
